Devotion

Fasting is the deprivation of food for some time, in order to increase self-control of Temperance and No waiver by something that is lawful and enjoyable.

Rules

Church The Catholic Church defines as limiting fast food intake on a day to a full meal and two meals that together do not exceed in amount to the strong. are days of obligatory fasting for the Church on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday , forcing the faithful between 14 and 59.

strict fasting is one that limits food intake entirely, or very limited food (water is not included in any case.)

Abstinence is not considered intake of meat, and has the same meaning as the fast. These are days of fasting every Friday of the year they do not fall in precept and all Christians are bound over 7 years.

The Legionaries of San Miguel who wish may make fast to the Church prescribes conditions on the days specified below and for the same intentions. Fast

Legionaries of San Miguel, whose main objective is to defend the Church understands that his greatest enemy is the devil, and he understands what "the Holy Curé of Ars, saying that the only thing that stand the devil was a voluntary fast. Also we rely on the Scriptures to read the Gospel of Matthew (9:29) where our Lord says that the most effective weapons of the Christian are fasting and prayer.

Those Legionnaires who wish may make the devotion of fasting in two ways, in whole or in part. The difference lies in the number of total days of fasting (As seen in the full 14 days per year, covers only part 7) on the following dates, with the intent standard of the Legion:

- The four Fridays Advent.

- The day before the Friday of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, around June.

- the first Saturday of June day of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

- Day San Miguel Archangel (29 September), unless it falls on a Sunday, in which case the Friday of the week.

- Day Guardian Angels (October 2), unless it falls on a Sunday, in which case the Friday of the week.

- The last three Fridays of Lent .

- The day after the Ascension of Our Lord .

- The Friday before the feast of All Saints .

- the day of the apparition of St. Michael the Archangel unless it falls on Sunday, which case it is the Friday of the week.

Those who make the partial devotion of fasting should only address the following days: the two last Friday of Advent, the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the day of San Miguel Archangel, the last two Fridays of Lent and the Friday before the feast of All Saints .

All dates were chosen with a specific motivation to repair and propitiation for the Church, and are chosen with a particular cause, preferably on Friday, a week of penance for excellence. The Legion of St. Michael is committed to inform one week before the day of fasting for those who have decided to carry out this devotion.

Legion of San Miguel understands the effort required to perform the fast in genral and this devotion in particular, but remember that both the teachers how the saints of the Church agree in confirming the abundant graces and merits to reap those who practice fasting, both for himself and others.
